Well, so much for any attempt to encourage all of us to use one
clearly-defined term instead of two or three confusing ones to say the
same thing...

William,
I would love to see what kind of odds the bookmakers in Vegas would put on
this. Needle in a haystack at the very least. May I suggest something? Since a
full 3-sheet of this Title would be stunning on display, why not take advantage
of your ownership of the bottom two-thirds and g
Hi
everyone,
We were referred to
this website from Sue @ Hollywood Poster Frames. We bought a 3 sheet to the 1957
sci-fi movie: Invasion of the Saucer-men. The only problem is the missing top
portion. We hear that this can be fabricated BUT we rather wait it out and await
for a lower grade
I agree with Kirby on this one. I have seen some poster listed as re-issues on
the poster itself. Also, there are quite a few re-release posters from
Republic Pictures during the 1940's that clearly state "Re-print" on them.

I saw it a few weeks ago myself.
I liked it, but I went it prepared to like it.
Polansky and Kingsley approached this project because
they felt that all previous treatments of Oliver Twist
have been overly "sentimental," which was something
they wanted to avoid, first and foremost. I think they

I disagree with JR here. I've used the term re-issue for years and I find his assertion "a distinction without a difference." Re-release is correct also, but I see nothing wrong with reissue. MovieArt lists films thusly: GONE WITH THE WIND (1939) reissueof 1980, for example. Yes films are rega
In Texas we've been going to the "show" forever.
We never go to the cinema or, for God's sake, "the pictures."
We do go to the movies. The more educated among us take in
a film.
Aging out of it hipsters will go to a "flick." I hate that.
Let's go to a show -- we know that means a movie, not
Same thing here in small town Ontario, Canada. We always talked about 'going to
the show'. In fact, I'm going to the show in a little over a half hour. The
new Cronenberg is playing and I can just barely wait.
All the best,

Hi Hope,
I'd go along with both Todd, JR and Robert here, although being
completely accurate... CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND - THE SPECIAL

that title due to re-editing, additional footage and new title.. but
that's a nit-
I've used this terminology in my ads for about 5 years and I've never

Hope,
You were completely correct -- anyone who suggests otherwise is trying
to claim that only the first release of a film can produced an "original"
movie poster and that just isn't logical. Very simply: Any movie poster that was

What's wrong with just saying "original re-release" and giving the date?

there is no point in any of us aruging with Al's knowledge and expertise
any further. I suggest taking note of his eBay ID which is "coolstuff159"

how can you people keep dragging this on and on like this forever, don't you have better things to do with your time, everyone just step back and look at what posters you have and be proud you'e accomplished so much, and smoke a good cigar.
