Hi to you all
I have 28 vintage Long Daybills listed on eBay. If you are not familiar with
long daybills they are very rare - pre 1942, in the larger 15 x 40 format and
often featuring unique artwork
Dear Mopos -
Maybe I missed a posting about this -
But I have tried to ship 2 parcels to England via Priority and they are not
currently allowing insurance to be purchased.
One pkg was over $200 last week and the other was $100 today - so it was not a
24-hour virus in the system or anything
I don't recall being able to buy any insurance through the USPS for
international packages

I've certainly bought insurance for international priority through USPS but
I have had a need for this recently. I've been using Stamps.com and I've
definitely purchased insurance there for Priority International and for
regular Air Mail International packages. FRANC

Hi to you all
I have recently started scanning lobby cards instead of photographing them. I
notice that many dealers including the major dealers still photograph lobby
cards to add to their websites. Just curious as to whether anyone sees any
problems with scanning lobby cards rather than
I tried scanning and did not like the results. The scanning process produced
a texture on the image and sometimes distorted the colors. FRANC

I think so many photograph because the scanners that handle oversize items like
lobby cards can be pretty costly. I myself have always used a scanner because
it is a lot easier to get true color realistic images of the item. I myself am
needing to pick up another scanner that handles large
I am finding that the scans work pretty well although the scans don't show up
flaws like pinholes, etc as well as photographs. It looks as though Bruce
doesnt use a scanner. I would be interested to see his and other opinions on
whether the process is faster by photographing lobby cards.
it's all about what equipment you use and what you're doing with it
I have hi-res scanning equipment and I have a hi-res camera
depending on what final usage you have either one can have it's
advantages, one of them being that shooting photos with a
high-quality digital camera takes much less
I might also mention - a scanner does smooth out the image. you
don't see creases and the like as well as you do with a good camera
and that's because a scanner doesn't examine the paper but rather the
color and the image is 2 dimensional, while a camera sees depth
Visit the MoPo
you can fix that with just a few adjustments in your scanning preferences
