This is so weird, I just have to ask the question: Is Ebay so desperate
that it is trying to promote itself through the GOP Presidential race?
No doubt everyone knows by now that former CEO Meg Whitman was
previously an advisor to Mitt Romney's failed presidential campaign and
is now one of John
MessageTechnically, in her speech she said she put it on eBay, she didn't
outright say she sold it on eBay, though, you're right, that's what was implied.
As for eBay's connection to the campaign, Whitman of course is no longer CEO of
the company but by her presence in the campaign it wouldn't
No.
Actually she never said that she sold it on eBay at all - her line was that
she put it on eBay, which of course is absolutely true.

I don't think Ebay is trying all that hard, and let's be honest, they
don't have to. Ebay, for better or worse, has worked itself in the pop
culture lexicon. People don't say sell it or auction it anymore -
they say ebay it.
I don't believe Palin is trying to
mislead anyone. She hasn't said

Ebay, is thus promoting itself by
Yes, Sean, but that's a distinction almost without a difference. She
didn't say she failed to sell it on ebay.
She said she put in on ebay which amounted to a little plug.
Hey, the Dems have their backers too.
Letting the political stuff edge in on MOPO will be detrimental to the

don't even know me.
The fact is she implied that she SOLD it on Ebay and her surrogates that
hit the afternoon talk shows all said She sold it on Ebay. She didn't.
That's called lying.
And my question was Why the
I totally agree with your last comment about not letting political stuff
edge in on MOPO. I only asked the question because I found the whole
Ebay plug (or deception, as I see it) incomprehensible and since there
seems to be a lot of Ebay experts on this board, I thought they'd have

No keep going! Maybe the Obama campaign will hear about it, and make the
focus of their remaining two months the horrifying SCANDAL that Gov Palin
merely put up, rather than successfully completed the sale of, the state jet
on eBay! And the even greater scandal that McCain doesn't recognize the

It's funny... I thought I was probably the activist in the group. The

It was not my intention to do politics on MOPO. I was simply trying to
draw out a discussion about the Ebay connection and branding but some
folks on this board are apparently so uptight about anyone potentially
speaking negatively about the GOP that I've now virtually been accused
