My district has been using MAP for the last several years, and this year we're
even giving first graders a test at the end of the year. We test every student
in fall and spring
Has anyone used the book Study Driven by Katie Wood Ray? I am
interested in your success in or opinion of the use of this book in
choosing mentor texts for writing instruction.

Yes I have the book and have used bits and pieces of it I plan to devour
more of it this summer. I like KW Ray and the sound advise she gives.
Using mentor texts is a very powerful way to drive writing instruction. I
attended Teachers College this summer at Columbia under the direction of
Lucy Ca
