You are probably right! Are you looking for a common assessment, or are
you trying to determine
each student's instructional level?
your kids would really have to be at a low level to use the Dibels for that
purpose! I do the 5th grade passages and it would really worry me to have
those
older kids on that level! Honestly though the IFRA kit would have a much
better
true picture of their comprehension levels!!

We use DIBELS at the elementary level. I do not think it is a reliable source.
Students that can read fluently based on the DIBELS information can be placed
in higher level reading classes even if their comprehension is terrible! Then
on the other hand students have poor fluency but high comp
At the middle school in our district, the AIMSweb Maze (for "comprehension") is
used as a universal screener as well as for progress monitoring. I would not
recommend its use, as it really only asseses sentence level comprehension.
And when struggling readers (in RtI) take this test so frequen
