I'm just curious, but how do use the data if the test is
not taken in the fall as well?
My district has been using MAP for the last several years, and this year we're
even giving first graders a test at the end of the year. We test every student
in fall and spring
My district used the MAP test for the first time this year. I can't say I was
impressed by it. The test is completed on the computer so many of the
reading strategies the kids are taught goes right out the window when they
can't
highlight or make margin notes on the test. Supposedly the test

computer test. We also used DIBELS, but have now shifted to AIMS Web as a

non-computerized assessments are given. I do like the NWEA for several
reasons. One, it shows growth. So often we look at state testing and it only

In regard to Test Talk. Are any of you in school districts where you are
forced to give NWEA MAP levels tests? I'm not sure they can be prepared for

their children for Levels tests. Thanks for any info.
