Sorry for the late post. I birded around a nature path near my house at =
4 pm today. A few migrants:

I am new to birding and saw some very blueish little birds on type of
the nesting boxs that are on poles in the marsh areas. At first I
though they were bluebirds but when looking at the books it did not
seem to fit. Then looking at several others sketches they did not
seem to be exact matches ei
New migrants in my yard yesterday (5/8) included: Yellow warblers &
Redstarts. Today (5/9), the Baltimore Oriole and Rose-breasted Grosbeak
made their appearance. White-throated sparrows are still here.
New today along Co. Hwy. 14 west of Richville, I saw a pair of Redhead
ducks, Bobolinks, and

We were burning up there today. And when I was doing neighbor contacts there
was a Mockingbird in one of the yards. I didn't get the house #, but
directions are from Felton go east on Co. Rd. 34 to Co. Rd. 110. From the

After my first final exam today I stopped at Carver PR to see what I c=
ould find. New species for the year
Hello all!
We got to Murphy Hanrehan at around 8:30 this morning and drove to the
entrance of the marked wood-trail with the gate at the entrance. Things
were everywhere at the start of it. Kinglets and White-throated sparrows
were all over, and in the bunch of them we spotted 1 Black-throated
Had a great walk this morning at the Pet Trails in Murphy-Hanrehan with
well over 80 species. Here are the highlights:
2 WILLETS - at west edge of water by #34. 1st time I've seen this
species in the park
NEW ARRIVALS - WOOD THRUSH(2), SCARLET TANAGER(at least 2), AMERICAN=20

Morning walk in Snail Lake Park (Ramsey Co 96 & Rice St) - I'm going to call
this part Sucker Lake trails because I met a local who called it that. The
Sucker Lake trail is actually in Snail Lake Park but there is another trail
around the actual Snail Lake and he called that the Snail Lake trail. H
Strong migratory movement in Pioneer Park (Princeton/Mille Lacs County) this
morning, including an early singing Connecticut Warbler.
Personal new arrivals for year during the 40 minute walk this morning also
included: Least Flycatcher - Great Crested Flycatcher - Blue-headed Vireo -

Hello Fellow Birdheads-
Its great to see migration finally blossoming (so to speak) in our
area. I am a PhD candidate in the Conservation Biology Program at
the University of Minnesota studying the stopover ecology of
landbirds. I am very interested in hearing fellow birders'

140th Street Marsh is about one mile east of Hwy 52. But 140th Street no
longer connects to Hwy 52 on that side, so you have to continue south to
CR42, turn east and then north on Conley to reach 140th Street.
180th Street Marsh is about three miles east of Hwy 52.
