the bird of day (Thursday) that propelled me to the keyboard was a grebe
seen at 70mph from I-94 on one of the ponds north of the freeway just west
of the Albertville exit. This was a large dark grebe with a long slender

Went birding in Duluth this AM. Had Surf Scoters in the Harbor off the
airport. Had a single White-Winged Scoter (juvenile) at Good Harbor Bay
and a single Black Scoter (female or juvenile) at the North end of the
Five Mile Rock area, north of Grand Marais. There was a single Sandhill
Crane
I saw a juvenile Sabine's Gull flying around the the lift bridge on
Park Point. it was about 5 o'clock
