I was hiking with the dogs in the woods just north of Grand Village nursing home and observed two Boreal Chickadees in a large mixed flock of Ruby-crowned Kinglets, Yellow-rumped Warblers, and Black-capped Chickadees. They were very vocal and active, foraging 15-20 feet away from me. There are 3

The rains held off at Carpenter this morning for Friday banding. Most of the banded birds were slate colored juncos and white throated sparrows. We did see one Baltimore oriole and an eastern towhee in the yard during the morning.

First Red-breasted Nuthatch since last fall, had a pair at feeders all last summer. Followed a Bald Eagle for a Quarter mile this morning at 30 MPH. Abeautiful sight even on a cold, gray, rainy day. No activity in EBB house.
