Must have had a good night for migration, got up this morning to a ton of
Robins in the yard all fighting over the water dishes I have in the front
yard.. I also had an adult Baltimore Oriole in my front Birch tree. I
still have plenty of Hummers and I noticed more Chipping Sparrows in the
yard
Following Doug's Saturday a.m. report, I visited the site on Monday at
8:15 am and found fifteen Buff-breasted Sandpipers, seven American
Golden Plovers, hundreds of Killdeers, a dozen or so Baird's Sandpipers,
and many Horned Larks.
The Buff-breasteds and Golden Plovers were in the back sod
We have gone to Old Cedar the last two evenings and both evenings there have
been two Red-Necked Grebes visible from the end of the boardwalk.
Both evenings the 2 Red-Necked Grebes have been swimming in the pond west of
the viewing platform a little way away from the boardwalk. A spotting scope

Perhaps the best solution is to call this bird the Pine Baypoll! There

Good afternoon,
This morning at appx. 10:45 there was a flock of appx. 30 hawks riding
the thermals along the bluffs above Crosby Park. At about 400', they were
magnificant!

at the north end of Lake Harriet in Minneapolis---including a couple dizzying,
head-spinning waves, w/ at least 10 species heavily dominated by Tenn. and

Late this morning, Sept 7, my Minn Birding Weekends (MBW) group
observed a Snowy Egret at Agassiz NWR, Marshall Co. It was seen on
Parker Pool from the observation platform along Co Rd 7 west of refuge
headquarters. I then alerted Jeanie Joppru who reported the egret was

Birded all of the Blue Hill trail and the wildlife drive today. Thanks to a
very kind birders excellent instructions I got to see the family of Common
Moorhens in Big Bluestem pool. While observing those I was also treated to two
Soras flying between the reeds halfway between the moorhens and
