At 9:15 am I looked up and saw the
owl sitting in the Norway Spruce on the north
side of our house.
I think you can only see it from inside our house.
You can call me if you want to see it (if it stays put).
Tues. one stayed in the yard all day.
We have heard some calls since then but today is
This morning in my yard, a nice adult male. Last year my first migrant arrived
on 3/31, a little on the early side.

Hi All--
Erika and I do not visit Cannon Falls all that often. Nevertheless,
yesterday, for the second time in several years we observed a Bald Eagle in
one of the large cottonwoods in the city park. We suppose they may well be
regular there. We got close looks and photographs, which I have
Last night, much of the ice on Pig’s Eye Lake disappeared. This
morning, the lake was teeming with birdlife. In addition to the usual
resident eagles, great blue herons, egrets and cormorants, I saw about
100 bald eagles (almost all immature), hundreds of gulls (mostly ring-
billed?),
By the way, at the Lake Byllesby dam (Goodhue Co.), Erika and I also listed
a Common Loon and a Red-breasted Merganser.

Arrivals this morning were Ruddy Duck, Turkey Vulture, and Fox Sparrow. The
only Tundra Swans still around are along Cty. Rd. 51 north of Hwy. 212. There
weren't that many geese around either, but there were plenty of ducks. I
tried to do a more accurate count of duck totals yesterday
The Harris's Sparrow has been present in our yard every day in Dassel
since
the 26th of December. It is really nice to see how it is changing color.

In the yard this morning were 78 dark-eyed juncos, and a pair of yellow-bellied
sapsuckers. A broad-winged hawk has made several passes over the house and
wooded area as well.

The great blue herons have returned to their rookery on the Snake
River at Pine City. The rookery is located on the west side of I-35
between the 2 Pine City exits and is easily viewed from the interstate.

Hello: We had around 30 Turkey Vultures over our home early in the evening of
April 1st. I assumed our resident ones had returned. They were around
yesterday too. Just now, around 6:45 p.m. on April 3rd, we had around 60
Turkey Vultures over our homes along Turtle Creek in southwest Austin.
Coopers hawks are breeding-seen mating.
YB Sapsucker, Eastern Phoebe and Hermit Thrush also noted as personal FOY
birds.
(Also noted an Eastern phoebe in my backyard 2 hours after seeing the phoebe at
Westwood)
Saw my first robins (2) of the year at Robert's Bird Sanctuary in Hennepin
County.
Also lucky I fed the meter beforehand as the car next to me had a ticket on it
when I returned.
