An adult male Harlequin Duck appeared along the Duluth Lakewalk late this
afternoon amongst a flock of 380 Common Goldeneyes, the adult male Barrow's
Goldeneye, and the adult male Hooded Merganser X Common Goldeneye hybrid. For a
while, the Barrow's and the Harlequin were swimming side by side.

Hi All,
Our long-time "Bird Tour" leader is pursuing other interests, and I'm looking
for people who might be willing to lead a bird tour or two this spring, summer
or fall here at Sherburne. Currently, we have a trip scheduled for May 12, as
part of our International Migratory Bird Day activ
On Monday afternoont there was a flock of 6 Bald Eagles and numerous corvids
including ravens, crows, and one slightly out of range Black-billed Magpie
foraging on a kill (deer?) along the railroad tracks about .5 mile SW of Bruno,
Pine County east of Highway 23. Bob Russell, Dakota County

Listening to a raven outside my church in Princeton makes me wonder if they are
spreading in Sherburne County, or if they have quite a range & this is one of
the refuge birds.

After two years of trying to get to the Bog I'm finally going to get there -
very briefly - this weekend. I was wondering if there were hiking trails? or do
you just drive the roads. Are the feeders in people's yards or just maintained
along the road by other birders? May you get out of
