Shorebirds continue and passerines have begun to move south through
Carver County. This morning I birded a few hours at Rapids Lake MVNWR
in interesting conditions. A wall of ground fog was on the east side
of the Minnesota River over Louisville Swamp with one vein of dense fog

At around noon today, I found a small flock of shorebirds on a wet field on
Alta Ave., on the west side of the road, between 302nd St.W, and Cty 94 (Cannon
River Blvd.) Recent rain has made this field hospitable to shorebirds again.
There is vegetation growing on the mudflat, and most of the
