Today I found an "Audubon's" Yellow-rumped Warbler at 4th Avenue and 2nd Street
in Two
Harbors. This is only the second time I've seen one in Lake County. The first
was on March
27, 2011 at Lighthouse Point in Two Harbors. I posted a fuzzy photo on the MOU

This was one
4 participants started the MOU field trip today at Miesville Ravine. Our
tracks were the first made in the snow as we walked the trails along the
Cannon River, an upland prairie which overlooks the river and the trail
going up on Trout Brook. Highlight birds included 2 American Woodcock,

The Short-eared Owl reported by Julian Sellers yesterday was seen again
early this afternoon by the MOU group led by Kevin Smith. We were a small
group of four hardy birders who had started out at Miesville Ravine at 8:00
and then birded Lake Byllesby before heading to the Great Western
Industrial

Across just a small part of rural Carver County I estimated 190 Horned
Lark, 102 Lapland Longspur(4 locations), and 32 Snow Bunting. I also
estimated 860 Dark-eyed Junco this mornin
This morning was a rather quiet one, following the recent snowstorm. While
skiing through Hartley Nature Area this morning, Black-capped Chickadees
