While listening to the Yellow Rails, the other night. I thought there were
some distant singing Nelson's Sparrows. But with all the traffic even after
midnight that night. They were difficult to confirm.
So on Thursday morning, I went back out and between 8:00 and 8:20 am. There

On Thursday, 7/4 between 12:30 and 1:30 pm. I birded the traditional spot for
Chestnut-collared Longspurs. The area was quit active and I was able to drive
the entire road, from the South end to the North end. But do note as
previously mentioned there are some very soft sandy areas
Cerulean Warbler was still present as of July 5 at 7:30am. Still in the same
area of
the Lower Campground near the Camp Host site.

There are still many flooded fields in Sibley County, a few of these contained
some migrant shorebirds this morning.
The area north of the intersection of county highways 12 and 13 has been
extensively flooded by High Island Creek, much of this flooded area is probably
currently too deep and
