[mou-net] Past few weeks in Carver County(15 warbler species today)

Until today the past few weeks have been fairly uneventful when it comes to migrants outside of shorebirds. There have been a couple here and there, but it looks like yesterday's frontal passage has ushered in more migrant songbirds. Over the past few weeks I tried to stay fairly consistent

Morning walk netted 25 Species of birds! Highlights included Olive Sided Flycatcher at end of trail that goes west in tall dead tree! And a immature male pileated Woodpecker drinking water out of a hollowed out fork of a tree near the parking lot. Been birding since 1970, have never seen this b

This morning there was a traumatic incident with a juvenile goldfinch and some grape jelly I have for the orioles. As I approached the hanging oriole feeder that was filled with grape jelly I noticed something odd in the feeder tray. When I got closer I realized it was a juvenile goldfinch

[mou-net] Nighthawks in Warren (Polk County)

This evening at the Audubon Center in Warren: 6 Nighthawks, a Mourning Dove sitting on a nest with 2 still downy chicks, Barn Swallows on the nest, Redstarts, Wood Ducks (at the birdfeeding station), Baltimore and Orchard Orioles, Pileated Woodpecker feeding suet to a fledgling. Sandhill Cranes
