Peder Svingen and I met on Park Point this evening to see if
we could see any of the jaegers that have been seen over on Wisconsin
Point. While birding at the dune bridge of
Park Point recreation area, near the Sky Harbor airport, we saw a total of 7
Parasitic Jaegers, which ties the high count fo
Highest count for the chimney at the old Park High School in St. Paul Park this
evening. 422 birds entered the chimney.

Assuming by example the recent straight-laced Buff-breasted Sandpiper report,
it was not without a jubilant "al-right! cruising through my heart and soul,

I've visited General Mills Nature Area (GM; Golden Valley) and Westwood
Hills Nature Center (WW;St. Louis Park) over the last few days. Although I
observed nothing too unusual, here are some highlights:
-Merlin (1 bird at WW; I'm guessing that this is a disperser from a nest in
the metro area rath

Perhaps
Someone should start an appreciation equivalent of e-bird - perhaps called
a-bird - that would hold stories, testimonials, poetry, photography etc. from
birding experiences & contemplation.
Such might provide balance to the scientific & listing aspects to our hobby.
