Monday afternnon.
While searching, scanning for Karl Bardon's juvenile Sabine's Gull (not
refound) from the south pier of Duluth's Canal Park, a Red-throated Loon flew
in for a brief fishing foray.
An adult Lesser Black-backed Gull joined the hundreds of Herring and
Ring-billed
The first snow of the winter blanketed the Sax-Zim Bog on Monday...and the
birds were very active.
12 Sharp-tailed Grouse feeding in 2 large aspens about 1.5 mi N of CR52/Arkola
on CR7 (9am)
126 Snow Buntings in 8 different flocks scattered about.

I had a pretty good weekend at my house on the North Shore this weekend. On
Saturday, I picked up a road killed deer (small...about 90 pounds) and placed
it in my field. I partially gutted it. Within about 10 minutes, about 40 crows

Hi Birders,
Had a large hawk chasing a crow through the woods in our back yard a few
minutes ago. It must have missed the crow but it circled back and perched in a
tree in the back yard. Turned out to be an adult Northern Goshawk. It sat there
for about five minutes--long enough to get the
Ross's goose not re-found this morning to early afternoon. I looked on the
hill described in the earlier post and in several areas around it where
other geese were seen. Many Canada geese, crow, and turkey vultures were
seen there.

As of 545pm it was back at the ball fields by the hockey rink as reported
earlier. the bird was outside the ball field towards the swing set. It was
