We just got to the farm and saw the Wood Stork flying away and went behind
the trees at the farm to the NW of original reports.

Refound the Wood Stork just north of county rd 8 on 345th. The bird is by
the tree line on the west side of 345th.

It was a third party report of a sighting by a relatively new birder in the
Boyer-Chute NWR on June 4th, but photos were taken and the birder
apparently compared it to field guides while looking at the bird. I saw no
other sightings
This morning around 8am, 2 Henslow's Sparrows were easily located as they
sang together along the prairie trail near Richardson Nature Center in

We found the wood stork north of cty 8, watched the wood stork for a few
minutes and than a small white dog came out of the woods and tried to attack
the bird. The wood stork was able to defend itself from the dog with it's wings
and beak. The dog than went back into the woods but the stork
I found a Cattle Egret in a wetland with cows at farm #12174 on the east side
of CR89(Yacht Ave) between 140th and 115th. Just north of there also on the
east side was a calling Henslow's Sparrow.

I did make it to the Blue Earth area and found the Woodstork. It was eating
near the old white
roped horse fence under the trees. It didn't seem to mind me being there and
just went about
business. This was at 3:30 today.

A friend of ours photographed a Red Crossbill at their feeders and bird bath.
They forwarded to me a photograph that I have posted on Recently Seen. The
location is a farm west of Dawson, MN. The bird is still there as of this
evening. This is on private property and I would have to obtain
Brad Abendroth and I headed down to Blue Earth after returning from the MBW
in Aitkin County this afternoon, and after a little searching and a
fortunate encounter with Wayne Feder, we were able to observe the bird
around 7:30 in its original location. The bird appeared bedraggled and
seemed to
