Hoping to find some open water and lots of waterfowl, I spent the weekend
birding primarily Grant county with a brief visit to Mud Lake and Traverse Lake
in Traverse county.

arriving to Carver County particularly the Rapids Lake unit of Minnesota Valley
NWR. Almost all my time birding has been spent at Rapids Lake. I intend to

Yesterday, 03-28, and today observed a nesting pair of kestrel's at the
intersection of
Nebraska Ave W & Cohansey St.
The birds are in a tall pine within the Elmhurst Cemetery just West of this
location, near the fence.
Nest is 4 feet from the top.

My reaction is that 50 feet is a very narrow strip of land. That may be all
we can get, but 100 feet would be much better.
