While birding today with Lee Pfannmuller and Gary Seim, we observed 106
species, including 9 kinds of ducks and 10 species of shorebirds. We started by

State Park (Washington County). The bird was along the first ravine loop
trail, just north of the first bridge on the North River Trail (along the

The previously reported Ruff was seen at 4:30 pm today (5-9-15) on the far
east end of Long Meadow Lake. This spot can be scoped by walking east on
the trail at Bass Ponds as far as it goes before beginning to circle back.
At this point a faint path takes you past a culvert and toward the
cattails.
Garrett Wee texted me saying that two White-faced Ibises are present today
as of 3:00 on Miedd Lake on the far east side of the lake.

I birded the Grey Cloud Dunes for 6 hours this morning and turned up 74
species, including 12 Warbler and 13 Sparrow species. The majority of the
Warblers were along the river, the Sparrows however, were spread all over
today as apposed to larger concentrations found in the burned area last
weeken

Field Trip Report
I enjoyed a couple days of birding, in Winona and Houston counties. Our group
hit some good waves of Warblers and found a few Shorebirds and some other birds
of interest on the trip.
