At the MSP airport a Snowy Owl continues. Likely moves around a bit and can
be far from the road, but best chance at a sighting is from the new aircraft
observation parking lot at the end of Cargo Road. This morning the owl was
on a small red and white checkered building to the NW of the lot. A
This update is because no one else posted anything on mou-net since Friday
morning and because I received a few inquiries. The Ivory Gull was still at
Canal Park in Duluth yesterday as usual despite the colder temperatures. It
will probably reappear today around 8:00 am as on previous days and
While we were loitering at Reagent and 44th in Duluth waiting for the
Golden-crowned Sparrow as fans for a stage star at the back door of the
theater, we did have a few interactions with the "locals".
The mother who lived on the block did not know and had not seen the bird,
but was not at all
I would appreciate knowing if the Ivory Gull continues to be seen in Duluth.
Thanks.

There are currently two Gryfalcons near the Peavey Elevator complex on
Connors Point in Superior, Wisconsin. One is a juvenile female gray/dark
morph that has been seen most often in the morning. The other is an adult
gray morph that is almost certainly the returning male from last winter --
We had a very successful trip to Duluth today. All four of us ended up
with at least one lifer and one veteran birder had three lifers.
We started the day at my house with a visit at my feeders by the Tufted
Titmouse. The drive up was notably quiet with no Red-tailed Hawks and one
Bald Eagle.
The Ivory Gull came in again to Canal Park in Duluth right on schedule this
morning to a nice salmon fillet someone put out. Many observers enjoyed
close views - 7:45 to 8:30, at least.

Sorry. Previous posting got cut off. Birders are asked to stay on the road, not
park where they might block traffic or any driveways, and to obviously stay off
any posted private property.

Sorry, all, but due to some apparent maintenance, the Mou-Net listserv
delayed my post about the Ivory Gull yesterday. I actually sent the
message at 9am, *yesterday* morning, not 2pm today. Very confusing!

Unfortunately I would have to agree with Jeremy that there were apparently no
sightings of the gull at Canal Park today. I spoke as well with birders who all
reported that no one they talked to was aware of it being seen on Sunday.
Unless it reappears in the coming days, it appears that
Just returned from Duluth/Superior. My wife and I did not see the Ivory Gull
Sunday, nor did we talk to anyone who had that day.
We did go over and see the Gyrfalcon on Connors Point.

I saw a Northern Shrike while driving home from church this morning, and then
relocated
the bird in the exact same stretch of Scenic 61 north of the Lakewood Pumping
Station at 4
pm. Good chance the bird will be there Monday morning. Photos and directions on

They need no bird bathmy cayenne flavored suet and compressed seed cylinder
(in St. Paul) were devoured by one very well fed grey squirrel - quite the size
of a gopher!

Concur. My post appearing today was actually sent on Sat morning at 9am
shortly after seeing it then. (Very confusing). Apologies for any
confusion. Unfortunately I think all my posts are getting delayed. As I
type this, the time is 5:03pm, Sunday.
