We are tentatively planning a trip to Panama next winter. Can anyone give me
any suggestions on how to find a birding guide. We are going to visit family,
but I would like to hire a guide for a couple of days while we are there.

I was searching for my nemesis bird this morning in Superior, WI- a Gyrfalcon.
I had no luck at Winter St. and I was met by JG Bennett (forgive spelling if
wrong) at the Peavey grain elevator on Connors Point and we had no luck there
but then JG got a text that the female, juvenile bird was at E

There was some spectacular goose migration this morning in Blue Earth and
Watonwan Counties, as witnessed by John Hockema and myself. The Maple
River WMA had hundreds of Canadas and Greater White-fronted Geese with some
Snow Geese mixed in. Lily Lake near Lake Crystal had thousand

We apparently just missed the Mountain Bluebird this afternoon.
Arrived about 1:30 and the last sighting that we are aware of was 1:15pm.
Stayed for about 45 minutes without seeing any bluebirds at all.
I may try again early tomorrow morning as it seems like morning may be the
best time.

I got out early with my scope at the Coon Rapids dam and saw a fair amount of
waterfowl this morning. I was there about nine thirty in the a.m. and upstream
from the walkway I saw perhaps as many as two thousand birds. Up close to the
walkway I saw a dozen or so gadwall and twice that many
