Thanks for the responses all, most are saying female red-winged blackbird
and this clicks for me as the correct identification.
I have now posted an alternative shot of this bird and it better shows the
longer tail, plus shows better the body length / blackbirdy shape more

John Hockema, Steve Houdek, and myself found two Northern Mockingbirds in
Jackson County today.
The first was at Anderson County Park in the southern part of the county.
The second was approximately 1/4 mile northeast of the town of Heron Lake on
