Alex Sundvall received and shared photos and report from finder Adam Sell of a
Fork-tailed Flycatcher seen this morning on Stony Point. The bird was on the
top of Spruce trees near the barn on the north side of Alseth Road. Duluth, St.
Louis county.

The towhees were seen at the previous reported location. They were seen and
heard at approximately 6 AM this morning. One bird was heard singing from an
oak tree near the trampoline in the mint greenhouse backyard. I left them as
they moved into thicker brush behind the beige square structure
The Ivory Gull was seen by many about 2:00-2:15 today. It was associating with
the ice fishing shacks on the bayside of park point. Landing on ice and
circling about. Just North of the Park Point airport.

An adult Mississippi Kite flew over my yard about 15 minutes ago. 4574 Martin
Rd just north of Duluth. It was headed south / south east.

The Bullocks Oriole appeared briefly in the trees over Brian’s house at approx
7:10 this morning. It was flushed by a garbage truck. I am looking for it again
now.

First street, Duluth. Viewable from alley behind address. Also the bird has

DNR staff reported on the refuge Facebook page that a Eurasian Widgeon was
found last Friday. I have no details. This was shared to me on Facebook this
evening. The photo on the Facebook posting appears to be of a photo/public file
California bird.

The sparrow was seen today at 12 - 12:20 in the cedars behind previous posted
address and at feeders at 4411 Regent
(2 houses east). The bird was seen from the sidewalk. Fox and white- throated
sparrow present too.

since there has been no updates since early afternoon here is an update.
The previously reported Wood Stork was seen by many up until 7:30 today when we
left. The bird was still walking around the trees in the farm grove. Wayne
Feder said it was ok to give the location, and no need to call him

What appeared to be a lapland longspur was seen feeding in a snowless ( very
rare habitat these days!!) under the 35w freeway just off of Railroad st. At
8th ave W by bayfront park. I could not get close enough to cofirm ID and no
bins along.

The homeowners have not seen the bunting yet today. Peder Svengen saw and
photographed the bird last evening at approx 730 PM. He is at the house today
and feeder activity is slow on this rare sunny and warmish day in Duluth. If

A belated post regarding a Boreal Owl that was seen last evening (1/29) on the
lakewalk between Fitgers Brewery complex and Leif Erikson Park. A co-worker was
walking and another person alerted him to the small owl perched out in the open
hunting. It was between 4 and 5 PM. He obtained a blurry
Today I found a male Eastern Bluebird on Pittsburgh Avenue. This road runs west
of Mesaba and is very much like an alley. The bird was feeding on the bare
patches of ground and flying about about half way down the road on the upper
side away from the lake.

Today November 14 the 2 Greater White-fronted, 1 Ross's/Snow, and now 2
Cackling Geese were still at Bayfront Park feeding on the grassy areas in front
of the stage. Bentleyville christmas light displays have been put up all around
them and they are very tame and tolerant of all the activity.
Today Tuesday Oct 30 the foursome of three species of geese continues in
Bayfront Festival Park in Duluth, MN. The birds are still loafing and feeding
in the grass in front of the stage area. It is easiest to find the white hybrid
Ross's/Snow goose and the others - one Cackling Goose, and 2 imm
. This is another new
bird for one of my in the park lists! One or two others were also seen in
Grand Marais within the town this past weekend so maybe they are invading!

I relocated the Glaucous-winged Gull today on the compost piles at WLSSD off of
27th Ave. West. The bird was feeding and scavenging with the large gull flock
and then flushed and most likely landed on the ice with the others offshore.

In the bowl area by stage on grass no fewer than 8 cackling geese this AM of
possibly two races.

Today three species of birds all had their chicks fledge from their birdhouse
today.
Great-crested Flycatcher fledged 6 or 7 chicks (this is the 4th year of using

Just finished a Pine County big day. Paul Egeland, Esther Gesick, and Don
Kienholz did a Pine County big day today. We had 127 species not too bad, but
still off from the record of 146 (Hertzel and Hertzel) I believe.

The Northern Hawk Owl reported earlier by Mike Hendrickson was seen again
