Last Thursday I watched a lone male prothonotary warbler on Stewart Ave.,
between Madison and Rankin at about 2 p.m. May be from the nest near 35 E.
that Linda wrote about.

Maybe it's my eyesight or memory, but it seems to me that this year the
males are redder.
Has anyone else seen the same? Could it be a seasonal difference?

About 20 minutes later I again saw a sole eagle, in the same area but
closer to Shepard Road and at lower altitude.
Today another bird watcher said that yesterday he'd seen an eagle as well,
at about 9:15, near the intersection of Alton and Shepard Road.

One mature and two immature bald eagles were riding the currents near
Sheppard Road this morning. They were between Rankin and Homer, at about 500'.

I watched two eagles, and possibly a third, at 11a. They were riding the
currents at about 700', between W. 7th Street and Sheperd Road near the
Springfield intersection.

Alton and W. 7th. St.

ot an expert in identification, however, all the characteristics in
Peterson's were there: white hood, white tipped wings, yellow beak, wings
extended, not bent. Right size too.

This morning at appx. 10:45 there was a flock of appx. 30 hawks riding
the thermals along the bluffs above Crosby Park. At about 400', they were
magnificant!

A Snowy Egret was seen by Wally Swanson and myself (Glenn Lee) in Rice =
Lake State Park in some
the wings than normal.
I've attached a poor quality photo which is good enough to see these markings.
It visits frequently along with other normal males. The contrast is vivid.I'd
like to know more about this if you have info. Thanks,
