The red-necked grebes were present today in Nelson pool and visible from
multiple points along the drive.

I went to the new Cedar Bridge site yesterday around noon and found Greater
Yellowlegs and Lesser Yellowlegs walking plus what I believe were two
phalaropes swimming. The birds were all distant.
The size differences were pronounced and proportionat
Thanks to Tony Lau, Ron and Erika Sitz I was able to enjoy the Western
Kingbird right at the spot listed below. I headed for the West side of the
parking lot and there it was (about 7:00 AM this morning).

I had a good morning today in the same places. Better weather, not quite as
many birds.
I did see and hear two Henslow's Sparrows near #31, several Sedge Wrens past
that. Bobolinks were after the big hill on #26. I think I heard a Western
Meadowlark just past them.

Lest anyone think I'm claiming a new species (red-wind), I acknowledge my poor
typing skills. Red-winged Blackbirds were what I shud hav tiped. We saw many
along with a lot of Tree Swallows.

Today's birds include male and female Red-breasted Merganser, a single Great
Blue Heron and about a dozen Double Crested Cormoronts.
I wasn't close enough to see the back crest on the Mergansers, but the color
markings were strong and distinctive.
