left at 3 p.m. The
Garganey was feeding in a weedy area in the center of the "flowage" south of
Abel and only about 50 ft. from the road. It was hanging out with a female
Blue-winged Teal as well as a pair of Blue-winged Teal. All 4 ducks were
feeding quite close together.

I've never seen a shrike in my yard; but, a few days ago I had a Brown
Creeper land on and feed upon one of my suet feeders. The feeder was filled
with a commercial peanut/suet cake.

Hi MOUers,
Jim Otto makes an excellent point in his posting below. I agree that it's
just as important to post birds looked for but not seen as it is sightings.
Such a posting will save other birders a potentially long drive as well as
time.

Hi,
Gary Ash and I saw the Prairie Warbler yesterday morning at 9:15 a.m. at the
previously posted location in Ritter Farm Park, Lakeville. He was singing
constantly. We also heard, but did not see, Cerulean Warblers in the
park--especially near shelter number 3.

Is anyone interested in driving with me to Duluth tomorrow to look for the
Red-throated Loons and Arctic Tern? I have a Subaru Forester and could take
up to 3 people with me. We could share the cost of gas. I thought I would
leave the Twin Cities around 8 a.m.
