The pair of Tufted Titmice reported by Ron Leann Plinske recently was seen
again today at approx. 3 PM at the tube feeder in their front yard in
Oakdale close to the window. Leann had shown me earlier excellent photos of

For those who have reported small owls found in Wood-duck boxes: Have the
boxes been mounted on a tree or was it on a pole with the usual predator
guard (sheet metal cone)? What this question tries to address is whether the
box needs to be buried in a tree to be attractive to a small owl. I ask
Between 11 am and 2 pm today, my wife and I observed a Swainson's Hawk low
and directly overhead at the intersection of 284th and MN 56 in Dakota

Three of us heard the Yellow Breasted Chat at the second power pole today at
3:30 PM. It was perhaps 100 ft into the heavy brush and trees singing weakly
a phrase or two every 5 mins or so for ? hr or so. I searched in the deep
brush and trees for almost an hour but never saw it; only heard it in
