[mou-net] Banded bird

Does anyone out there, MOU member or not, live near County Rd C and Dale Street? A neighbor in the area called me today saying they had a banded baby bird in their garage. I went over and found an Eastern Phoebe recently out of the nest, but only able to flutter a short distance. It had a small,

The answer is ... PURPLE MARTIN.  Kelly Applegate banded purple martins at Meadowview Park in Elk River with red bands.  My feather book confirms that these could definitely be purple martin, so guess the mystery is solved.  Hooray!   Thanks to everyone who weighed in!  And especially to Kelly!
