Four Great-tailed Grackles were observed by Gerry Hoekstra and I on
Thursday evening in a traditional location at a farm pasture along Hwy 86
about 1 mile north of the jct. with Hwy 4. Two males were in molt but had
the complete long tails for easy identification.

This evening at 6:00 PM Scott Meyer and I observed a male Great-tailed

On August 11, 2009, I found an adult male Great-tailed Grackle in Windom,
Cottonwood County, at the McDonald’s Restaurant located on State Highway 60,
just north of its intersection with CoRd 17. It’s partial to eating French
fries, so throw out some if you don’t see the bird right away.
