At the river- fox sparrow, song sparrow, northern flicker- golden kinglet- blue
heron - Sandhill crane - lots of eagles - bluebird- and two
Broad winged hawks! Eurasian collared dove pair is still in my neighborhood- at
my feeder- brown headed cowbird- juncos , cardinals, lots of grackles and red
"My" Hummingbirds arrived in my yard today (a bit south of Hastings, Dakota
County). I had my nectar feeders up and ready for them J Haven't seen "my"
Orioles yet though!

My Husband recently had major spine surgery and then a week later, came down
with an infection in a hip that he's never had problems with before. He
spent a total of 13 days in the hospital and has been having a difficult
recovery. So, to try and keep his mind off of his pain, I set up our 600mm

the best place to see the bird is from his front porch, watching the trees to

Hi All--
Buoyed by our finding the Snowy Owl, and Erika and I suffering from colds
that leave us good for little but road-trips, we drove over and saw the
"Hastings" Varied Thrush on Sunday. The bird was remarkably tame. I sat

The male Varied Thrush was present and pretty active this cold morning
between 11 and Noon at 17774 Blackbird Trail, off of Ravenna Trail, SE of
Hastings. A Northern Shrike was at Lock and Dam #2 just upriver from
Hastings. And the Long-tailed Duck continues at Pt. Douglas, across from
Prescott, W
Jon Swanson and I went down looking for the Varied Thrush near Hastings, MN and
we were able to quickly find it. It was present from when we arrived at 8:30AM
till we left two hours later. The home owner is so gracious, came out to talk
with us and told us where to look for the bird. Might be
