This is awesome. My daughter and I were out at the Lilly Preserve Sunday
morning and also recorded over 30 species, though a dozen or so different
than your list. For instance, no red-headed. But we did see a scarlet
tanager.

Recent urban backyard visitors: a red-headed woodpecker at the suet
yesterday; a Swainson's thrush foraging on ground (for several days now);
a female rose-breasted grosbeak at black oiler feeder; several Baltimore
orioles and a gray catbird at the jelly feeder.

Today when I was visiting a little pocket-park in my neighborhood I spotted

This morning, I had a RH Woodpecker in my yard, the first I have observed in my

This afternoon I was alerted to a Red-headed Woodpecker that is working
over various trees around campsite 63 in Chase Point campground.

Woodpecker seen in Northfield (though they are often found at nearby

Feeder-sighting from this morning (Sunday, 5/6) from a friend at 7886 Alden
Way NE, Fridley. (It was a lifer for her, so she took pains to confirm the

Just as I posted the Koochiching County Big Day results to MOU-Net, Kari
heard a Red-headed Woodpecker calling outside. I ran outside to see it
calling from the top of a half-dead silver poplar across Fraser Avenue from
our yard. Great bird to start the day with and only the 3rd I've ever seen

This morning at 7:00, along Minnehaha Creek east of Lake Hiawatha, a red-headed
woodpecker flew toward me, passed right in front of me, and flew off into the
neighborhood near E 46th St 32nd Ave S.
The red head and solid black and white wings were clearly visible. It did not
call.

Heading out to work on Friday, I screeched to a halt and backed up in the

Another first-ever visitor to our feeders and 40-foot tall white
spruce this morning -- a red-headed woodpecker. (On Tuesday it was
the yellow-headed blackbird.)
This has been a very exciting spring at our feeders in Pomroy
Township, Kanabec County. The sparrows are abundant -- Harris's,
Astonished to see a rh woodpecker near E.Island and Maple, on E. river side,
at Nicollet Island in Minneapolis. At 8:45, watched it for about 5 minutes
until it disappeared toward other side (west side) of the Island. Very
active day today - long list to follow.
