Hi all,
I’m writing to follow up on my previous request for observations of eastern
red crossbills feeding on conifers. As the dog days of summer kick in and
breeding bird activity winds down, conifer cone crops are maturing, so it’s
a great time to look for crossbill breeding activity!

Hi all,
I’m beginning a multi-year effort to characterize seasonal changes in the
diets of eastern red crossbill call types. We know that crossbills in the
east are fairly generalized in the sense that they feed on many conifer
species. However, we don’t know if certain conifers are particularly

I am writing once again to ask the birding community for recordings of Mourning
Warbler songs during spring migration. It is an opportunity to participate in
a Citizens Science Project with two specific goals. 1) Evaluate the use of
birdsong as a new tool for studying bird migration. 2) Determ

I am looking for a location (preferably a backyard) near or at least within
a few miles of the St. Paul midway area with several bird feeders. I will
have 15-20 students who should observe birds and bird interaction at feeders
on 9/21. If you have such a yard or know of someone who has several feed
