Hello birders,
In case it's of interest to anyone, my wife and I were pleasantly
surprised to see a *juvenile Yellow-Bellied Sapsucker *this morning. We
assume this is a late migrant...?
It was foraging on a tree in the brushy area along the railroad / greenway
that separates Brackett Park and

I had Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers nesting in a tree on our property. Only the

Eventually the male and female brought food to the
Checking on the Yellow-rump has revealed a 2nd diner on the pine, a male
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker. Perhaps the Warbler can gain some extra advantage
from its work.

This morning I found a beautiful male YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER and two EASTERN

Yesterday I checked out Neal Ave. again with Abrahm Simons and we got great
looks at some of the LAPLAND LONGSPURS that are just south of 70th St. I'd

I don't recall seeing any recent posts of this species, nor are there any shown
on the MOU website Seasonal Report maps. So, one 1st year female seen today in
my yard. This is the 3rd time in the past 15 years I have had one on March
31st, my earliest migration date for Yellow-bellied

I'm curious as to other folks experience with Sapsuckers at feeders. I
have had one since May 17 regularly feeding on grape jelly all day
long and the past few days I have identified a male and female. We
have never had this happen before.
Input appreciated.

Late this afternoon as I came back to my St. Peter apartment from
running a few errands I heard a harsh, raspy call that sounded like a
sapsucker coming from one of the adjacent yards. My suspicion was
confirmed as a juvenile Yellow-bellied Sapsucker flew up to a nearby
apple tree and
