I see that the current rev of the LDAPCSDK depends on NSS 3.4.1. I'm
told by Wan-Teh Chang (NSS/NSPR mgr) that NSS 3.5 is out, but only the
mozilla team are currently using it, with the primary difference being
performance improvements. Just the same, Wan-Teh has suggested that I
stick with 3.4.
Initially I had problems building NSS, but resolved them thanks to Wan-Teh
Chang.
But, now there are problems building the C-SDK itself. I've followed the
instructions on the C-SDK page exactly.

Has anyone got problems parsing LDIF file using Netscape Java LDAP
classes (4.1) because of endcoding? I try to read entries from the full
directory content produced by DirX (Siemens) directory server and get
