The above is what I said. The reason it didn't work for you before
is because you didn'

The reason for the response is that any changes you make to the
prefs.js file while Mozilla is running are lost when you exit the
application. The only way to make permane
I think I've figured out what the issue is. Our documentation is vague
on this point - I'll add a clarification right away.
You can add prefs to either your user preferences file (prefs.js in your
user profile directory) or to one of the default pref files (any of the
.js files in bin/defaults
It doesn't matter if Mozilla is running or not when I edit
the file. The fact is that if Mozilla starts up with those
lines in in my security-prefs.js file, I still get popups
at 'http://www.wpi.edu/~dpotter/infinite.html'.
Instead of people just spouting answers back, why don't they
actually try
I just added *exactly* what you wrote to my 'defaults/pref/security-prefs.js'
file, restarted Mozilla, and went to 'http://www.wpi.edu/~dpotter/infinite.html'
and that page had no problem popping up windows on my computer.

user_pref("capability.policy.default.Window.open", "noAccess");
user_pref("capability.policy.default.Window.moveTo", "noAccess");

I added the text below to my defaults/pref/security-prefs.js file and
it did *nothing* to stop popups with Mozilla 0.9.3:
user_pref("capability.policy.default.window.open", "noAccess");
user_pref("capability.policy.default.window.moveTo", "noAccess");
user_pref("capability.policy.default.window.r
