Hi Brent,
You should almost certainly have only one initq in this situation. The
difference between the actions for different queues can be controlled by
the content of the TRIGDATA, the PROCESS, and the content of the PROCESS.
One of the objectives of having triggering is to reduce the number of
Hi
I am new to MQ Series and have a question concerning initiation queues.
i have set up 2 local queues that are defined for queue manager X.

when a message arrives in q2 trigger a process to submit a JCL B.

I am trying to upgrade to 5.3 on a Windows 2000 server, and cannot because I
cannot get rid of the old version.
If I go to Control Panel...Add/Remove Programs and select MQSeries, the
uninstall procedure begins, but then an error box gets thrown up saying it
cannot find the MQSeries.msi file.
So
1 - depends on mq version. as far as i remember a remove by qmid was
added by
mq 5.3, so if you are at 5.2 remove by qmgr name is the only option.
from my experience removing a non existing qmgr from a cluster can
really
be a pain, and i also remembered that it was not always possible

Yes, I know. So how do I save these values off for use later? Currently I'm doing
this ...
Dim i as Integer
Dim bytLastMsgID as MQBYTE24
For i = 0 To 23: bytLastMsgID.MQByte(i) = md.MsgID.MQByte(i): Next
Is that the best way? Thanks!

It is always a smart move to outsource your intellectural capital. That way

Hi,
Joe's original question was about interviewing people with less than 2 years of

Hi,
Certification is a great thing but should be taken with a grain of salt. (I
have ever noticed the number of people who have requested the certification

I personally assign a value of 2-3 months of equivalent work experience for a

Thanks Chad, that's exactly the kind of information I was looking for. What

Will, Thanks for the reply. I have tried this very thing, but I get a "type mismatch"
error because md.MsgID and md.CorrelID are
defined as binary arrays. That's the whole crux of my problem, figuring out how to
store and retrieve these two fields. Any
suggestions? Bill

We have 5.2 running on HP 11i and didn't see any issues until the HP Cumulative
Patch Bundle June 2003 was loaded. Once loaded, the symptoms we encountered
consisted mainly of the inability for MQ Series to start a receiver channel.
All other MQ Series functions seemed to work fine and a man
