Bobbee,
We have a MQ - MQSI guy from Ohio whose contract ends tomorrow
(Friday). He has mainly a MVS background but knows his MQSI shit real good. He's interviewing with IBM also.

My apologies if your shop is
different
Its not IMS that is down, its the individual TCODES. If
IMS itself as a whole is down, then the OTMA does not even attempt to pull from
the bridge queue. But if IMS comes up, and thus OTMA starts processing the MQ
queue, and the TCODE it needs to start
We have recently installed MQSeries for Z/OS and are testing the IMS Bridge.
We found that when a message is sent to a queue, the MQIIH record contains the
PASSWORD which is readable by anyone who has access to the queue.
IBM states that this is "as designed".
Seems to me that passing along the PAS
Hi,
ApplOriginData is part of the 'Origin Context' and not 'Identity Context'. You
need to use MQOO_SET_ALL_CONTEXT on MQOPEN and MQPMO_SET_ALL_CONTEXT on the
MQPUT.

I asked this before but I will try again.
I have a position for an MQSeries / WBIMB (mqsi) experienced person in New

Hi,
Actually, I agree with both of you about TempDynamic Queues and the application
going away (closing the queue but receiving the reply). I split it 50% - 50%
for the responsibility of those messages being put to the Dead Letter Queue
(DLQ). (And yes, I am implying that it is responsibility of
Under MQSeries 5.3 OPS z/OS, trying set a 4 chara string in the
AppLOriginData field.
My MQOPEN open option is set to MQOO_SET_IDENTITY_CONTEXT and MQPUT
option is set to MQPMO_SET_IDENTITY_CONTEXT. After the MQPUT command is
issue, the ApplOrigninData contains
spaces. Any ideas how to set this f
Hello Brian,
on AIX and Sun this code means 'Resource temporarily unavailable'. Maybe,
the remote listener is not active? Did you check it with a "ping channel"
command?
PS: You can find out the meanings of error codes by the following commands:
AIX: grep -w 11 /usr/include/errno.h
Sun: grep -w
Erik,
technically an interesting question.
I may
have misunderstood you, but to me message sequence (or message
affinitiy) in an
asynchronous environment is one of the 7
(I am sure there are more...) deadly messaging sins :-)
Needless to say this needs to be avoided at all
cost...
