You're right, brmsx 2.6 has a bug in the GUI.
If you try to open the gui in msx-1 mode it will crash

Zanac-EX displays fine on fmsx-dos in a dos bos with -msx2 option,maybe
you have a corrup ROM or something...

Aquí tienes una versión .COM del Zanac que sí funciona. Realmente no
