Yep, that worked for me, once, wirth two 2400bps modems, then i tried
out later with faster modems; i't didn;t work...never knew why...
i used a comms prog on each PC, in one i used ATA (auto answer) and on
the other (ATD) (dial, no number)...

Some modems can be connected directly.
I tested it with 2 pcs and USR modems (one internal and other external).
Just plug the cord to the line jack on both modems.
