Also, look for 'electrocuted' contacts (or whatever it's called).
Those have a 'ring' of brown stuff ('hars') around them, and re-soldering
them can also help. It worked with my monitor at least.

Although I love fades, this one is getting irritating... I bought a Monitor
on Tilburg 2000, but when I use it, it fades out all the time... After i
give it a gentle 'SMASH' hehe.. It turns on again (fading in the screen)...

Well.. There is no need to sit on your monitor. Good chance that if you do
that, I will never work again anyway ;)
