On my computer, the clock still isn't running perfectly, it is still running
behind, but it's only a matter of hours, the date was still correct.
I think my battery

I replaced the accu, but they didn't have one alike so I got an 1.2V accu
and a 2.4V accu to replace it. I did it, and now it remembers the screen
settings,
Not that it is really a big problem (the screensettings were the worst)
I think it IS a big problem since:
1. The MAKEFILE utility for C will not function properly unless the source
files are saved with the correct date and time;
I don't program C(++)...
2. Keeping track of versions of
I've got a problem which is much alike.

No solution yet. I've bought a new crystal which I'll
I have replaced the backup battery in my NMS8255 last week. Originally, it
was a 3.6V/46mA battery that was not available at my local electronics
shop,
so I put in a 3.6V/90mA type that was slightly bigger. That was not a
problem since there's enough room on the PCB.
Now screen settings,
(problem: real time clock in NMS8255 is not running)
are u sure it's a 3.6 V battery and not a 2.4 V battery.
This problem also occurs when one of the 3 cells is defective
(a 3.6V battery is made of 3 X 1.2V )
I've measured 3.0 V when the computer is off and 3.5 V when power is on.
Maybe

and how it can be replaced?
It can

check by checking the time on a running machine after a couple of hours.

Any idea how it looks or where it is located in the NMS8255?
I've seen it some time ago in my 8250. It's large (about the same size as
That's a typical HTML (Hard To Miss Lad) situation... When you remove the

of the main PCB... That should be the 'battery'.

It can be replaced. First remove the old battery and go to an
electronics shop with it, or write down the voltage and capacity :)
Ask for a similar one.
