The usual installation procedure does not succeed because
of write permissions to various catalogs.

I just noticed that the following line from my muttrc doesn't work
as expected:
send-hook . "set record=~/mail/sent-mail-date +%Y-%m"
What's wrong is that it this morning it still saved in -99-09 for me.
I got it to update to -99-10 by restarting mutt, but normally I don't
exit mutt that often.
hi,
I think all that is required is to run
configure --prefix=/path/to/install/mutt
and run 'make install'. If you still have problems like 'mail folder is
read-only' comment out 'define USE_DOTLOCK 1' in config.h after running
configure. Then run 'make install'.

Hi,
I'd like mutt (I use 0.95.7i) to automatically set the fcc for a newly
composed mail to the mailbox from which I issued the mail command. I.e.
when I'm in =my/box and compose a new message, it should have Fcc: =my/box.
I tried
fcc-hook ~A -

Where is the PGP key to be found that will check the detached sigs on the

I'm quite new to mutt, and so far very happy with how it works, and how
configurable it is. I've got a problem that is probably just me missing

First of all, I had set prefix to "./subdir". Second, /usr/local/doc
does not exist on our system.

Hello,
I've been using Pine with IMAP on a Linux server and I want to move to

I just joined the list today and cannot find any mention of using an

Yesterday I posted a question about whether it was possible
to install mutt for oneself without having the root
writing permissions. The only advice I received was
to run configure with the prefix pointed to my home directory.
This is what I did from the very beginning:
