Mutt just hangs

I am trying to run mutt on my SGI (see configuration options below). However when I submit the command, it just hangs. A ps -ef reveals that two processes are running. I have to issue a kill command to cancel the jobs. Can you help? Also, if I want to attach multiple files, the use of
