Enter it with quotes around the explicit numbers. That should allow you to
keep it as a number vs being parsed.

For clarification, are talking about the in the main outline or in a
filtered view? In a filtered view you can sort by "Caption". If you are
looking at the main outline, then you'll need to choose manual sorting and
arrange them.
Hope this helps.

Grant,
You can open the workspace, change to the new view then select "set default
for this tab" again. That should save the new view to that workspace.

I recommend restoring the backup, renaming it your MLO file name. Then,

This is a fairly broad request so I'll try to help. First thing though is
to read through the help guide in MLO and refer back to it as needed.
For your questions:

I do that. I set up the link to the Evernote note(s) I need. For bigger
projects, I have a "splash page" note and link to that from the main
project task in MLO. I do the same for OneNote as well as i manage most of

I do something similar but a different approach. I assign a context (.Gcal)
only to the items I want to sync and then everything else is excluded. It
allows me to be more selective about which tasks sync. You can assign this
to top level parents and allow sub tasks to inherit it and it works.

Patricio,
No, not directly. You'd have to use a third party app to sync between
Google and Outlook (that's what I do). Once its sync'd, you can make
changes to date/time and it'll update on next sync. I use the Google
Outlook Sync tool (google it) and it works great.

Robin,
I can see your point with that feature. Maybe consider subtask "sections"
in you project with those subsections having complete tasks in order. With
the master project not being set. That should still allow you to perform
concurrent tasks.
Or do you only want it to show just one task but

I tried to replicate what you wanted but couldn't do it directly. I was

paste it in. It's cumbersome but works just not simple like what you're

John,
Assign items with hard deadlines a specific context. I do that and use
"GCal" as the context and set the sync to only sync tasks with the Gcal
context. Works like a champ.
I color code them on my phone (Android) to easily see them on my MLO task
lists to separate them from the "do anytime"
I do something like that by linking Evernote notes that contain the
checklists. Things like "Daily Review" on MLO task list with the details in
Evenote.

Depending on how many your do at a time or day, make a daily repeating task
of “Do 34 pushups a day” and make it recurring daily

Andrew,
I was referring to the MLO desktop for sync'ing. To answer your question,
yes, you can make the task in MLO and assign it in Outlook. The process
would be:
1) Create task in MLO
2) Via the Desktop, sync task(s) to Outlook
3) Assign task to user in Outlook
4) Can re-sync with MLO
Andrew,
You can set your MLO up to sync with Outlook tasks and delegate them via
Outlook. I don't know of a way to delegate from MLO directly. I do that
sometimes and only sync a subset of my MLO tasks with Outlook (otherwise it
would get unwieldy).
Hope that helps,
Leigh

You can't do custom formatting with a rule on Android, you have have
manually format the task. You can set it up for subtasks to inherit the
formatting but not automatically.

Hi Cliff,
You could do this. Since most (all?) of these aren't actionable in and of
themselves, you could create them as folders. You would still see the whole
outline that way. You could then add specific tasks you want to complete
under the respective folder such as "Write weekly marketing
Check out this link on the MLO site. They have the instructions for desktop
to mobile and other mobile to mobile. Essentially you select the views,
export them (I do it via Gmail and email to myself) then save and import
them on your new device.
You can try using the “undo” function. Also, for the future, search this
forum for the entry from Dwight about creating a “last 48 hours” view to
address this very thing.

Hammy,
Yes, you can do that. I have a custom view for my “Today” view. I have
filters for Due today, start today, and starred so I can see the recurring
things that I have to get done (Due), things that I could do (start today)
and things I specified I want/plan to do (Starred).

You can create a separate, dedicated, MLO Google calendar for MLO tasks to
sync to. That allows others to schedule meetings based on your primary
Google calendar. Both are visible in your app.

Hmm, interesting. If your master filter is set to "Active" vs All or
Available, it may be filtering them out if the start date is later than
today. As a test, try setting your master filter to either "All" or
"Available" and see if that displays them. I did a test with mine and have

It may be that they aren't showing because the new start date is set on the
recurrence and its causing the task to be filtered out.

Use the MLO widget for adding tasks with parsing. You can create a
one-touch short-cut on the screen or you can set it up in the notification
area (which I do). Then you can just tap it, it brings up the entry box.
You type in your task along with the modifiers like @Home or the

One way to do this (which is the way I do it) is to have your tasks sync to
a dedicated calendar on Google. I have several calendars (Business,
personal, Financial, MLO) and I sync tasks to my MLO. When you complete an
item in MLO, the task stays on the calendar. To limit/control the number of
I have a workaround that I've implemented to accomplish this. Most of my
recurring tasks are routine things I need to do to keep everything
operating smoothly. I added a text tag to all these items called "Routine".
When I set my daily task list, I group by Top level Folder (Personal and
Work)
I'd seriously recommend utilizing a "Someday/Maybe" list for some of your
tasks. My lists get really long and I started feeling overwhelmed. Using
the S/M allowed me to put tasks there that I wasn't going to get too in the
next month or 2 and it kept them out of my views. I have my S/M set to

That's basically what I did while troubleshooting. I managed to come up
with some filters that seem to be working. I'm going to continue to test.
Here's how I did it:
General Filter:
Show Actions: All
Advanced Filters:
Starred OR
(Sub rule) OR
Contexts contain GCal and
DueDateTime is today

Thanks, good suggestion. I tried it and still having the same issue. I
think its because the start time hasn't occurred yet so isn't visible in
todo list due to the "Active" filter. I'm going to keep experimenting.
