I have a problem. I had to upgrade to 4.1 yesterday for an application,
and now I can't convert my old isam tables to myisam:
ALTER TABLE codes TYPE = MYISAM;
ERROR 1017 (HY000): Can't find file: 'codes.MYI' (errno: 2)
and I can't use phpmyadmin because there are isam tables. Is there any
way
I managed to install
MySQL-client-4.0.25-0.ia64.rpm
MySQL-server-4.0.25-0.ia64.rpm
MySQL-devel-4.0.25-0.ia64.rpm
but MySQL-shared-4.0.25-0.ia64.rpm was still giving me the same error
about missing a glibc library even though glibc 2.3 is installed.
Though the install worked, I now get:
[EMAIL
When I try to install
MySQL-server-4.1.13-0.glibc23.ia64.rpm
MySQL-Max-4.1.13-0.glibc23.ia64.rpm
MySQL-devel-4.1.13-0.glibc23.ia64.rpm
MySQL-debuginfo-4.1.13-0.glibc23.ia64.rpm
MySQL-client-4.1.13-0.glibc23.ia64.rpm
MySQL-bench-4.1.13-0.glibc23.ia64.rpm
I get lots of messages like this:
Error:
This may be a stupid question, but on the mysql site, there are
downloads for 64 bit, then the same 64 bit downloads for redhat ES3. If
I'm using fedora core 3, do I need the redhat rpms?

I had a server hacked last night and they did alot a damage, but I
think I've got just about everything back up as normal...including a
brand new mysql installation (4.0.21). My problem is this. The 4.0.21
or the old 4.0.20 will not start using mysqld_safe and will start with
mysqld if I
