doesn't seem to use the tmpdir that I specify for the .TMD or .TMM files
that mysqlcheck creates.

are they always created in the same directory as the data

After checking the database myisamchk leave in data directory file
with extension tmm. That is it? I can't find in the documentation
nothing about this extension.
