You can do with one line:
replicate-do-table = db.table1, db.table2, db.table3

Have 2 4.1x boxes
Slave is configured, via my.cnf, to only replicate three tables:
replicate-do-table = db.table1
replicate-do-table = db.table2
replicate-do-table = db.table3
SHOW SLAVE STATUS; (sanitised) output is as follows:
mysql> show slave
