My apologies for rushing in with a question that gave
little in the way of details.
I've straightend out the mess ;)
Just in case it's of any relevance, I've opted to
store the gifs in a file directory and use a varchar
field to make a link to the file / directory.
All is good.

I'm converting a MS Access database to a mySQL database. All seems to be
fine. But I have problems with MS Access fields of the type (german)
